The Museum of Ukrainian majolica was opened in September 2023 in Truskavets by Oleksandr Blazhevych, an enthusiast of this craft. For years, Oleksandr collected exhibits from all over the country. At the entrance to the museum, visitors are greeted by the banner of our charity foundation “Kran”, so that everyone has the opportunity to join in and contribute to the foundation’s projects, namely the neurorehabilitation of seriously injured people.
Despite the fact that this ‘treasure box’ is located in a small room, it has more than 2,000 pieces of authentic Ukrainian majolica from different years and different masters.
The collection of ‘Strange Beasts’ by the Protoryevs from Vasylkiv factory is the centrepiece of this museum. The nostalgic exhibits of the Lviv Ceramic and Sculpture Factory, the famous products of Kosiv and Opishne, and the famous Vasylkiv cockerel are just a small part of the variety of ceramic beauty collected in one museum.
We sincerely thank the organisers of the museum for preserving our cultural traditions and for supporting the treatment of our defenders.
The museum is open every day, the entrance is at the main entrance to the pump room. If you are in Truskavets, come here to enjoy the collection (by the way, you can also buy delicious craft sheep cheeses here) and do a good deed.
