On 1 February 2025, I became the head of the Kran Charitable Foundation exactly one year ago.
It was a very difficult year for everyone involved in charity and volunteering. However, it has proved once again that we have people who are ready to support those who defended us and lost the most important thing – their health.
Our foundation has no large international grants, it is supported only by private donors and Ukrainian business.
And I’m immensely grateful to everyone who supported us, because it is thanks to your efforts that 22 seriously wounded defenders were able to undergo rehabilitation at the NODUS clinic this year and, thanks to Oleksandr Kulyk, Olena Maydannyk and the entire medical team, get a chance for a new life.
I keep thinking: could we have done more? And instead of an answer, I have a huge queue of wounded in front of my eyes, whom the clinic simply cannot afford to take due to lack of funding. It seems that no matter how much you collect, it is only a drop. But it is these drops that make up the sea.
That is why we are not looking for one “big sponsor” to cover all our needs, but instead persistently gather a community of caring people.
This year, we have expanded our partnerships and found like-minded people in very different fields:
Odesa National Economic University, Maestro Hotel Management, Anima International Women’s Festival, Garage Sale Community held their events in support of the foundation and helped us financially.
Jazz singer Laura Marty talks about the foundation at her concerts and raises funds.
Marina Lukyanova, a collector of antique Christmas tree decorations, held an auction to sell them at the Museum of Eastern and Western Art to support the foundation.
Svitlana Savchuk is a businesswoman who has been helping the wounded for many years, and for the third year in a row has been producing themed calendars, part of the proceeds from which go to rehabilitate the military.
We also took part in major events and forums to spread the word about the Foundation and attract even more people to support our wounded. Among them: Animania International Women’s Festival, Women Leaders For Ukraine, WOW ART UKRAINE Festival of Ukrainian brands by Lyudmila Udovichenko, Garage Sale Community and other events.
I am grateful to everyone who helped to make the problem of neurorehabilitation for severely wounded visible to a large number of people:
Natalia Lebedeva, Irina Tishchenko, Eduard Rezhinsky, Irina Kobikhno, Kateryna Poznanska, Solomiya Vitvitska, Natalia Dobrota, Marina Lukyanova, Rachel Thibault, Cornelia Boychenko, Anna Miletska, Nanna Shash, Oleksandra Nikitina, Anna Gorbenko, Irina Efimova – thanks to you, tens or even hundreds of thousands of people have learned about the Foundation through the events you organised, media support and social media posts.
Special thanks to those who have supported us for many years: EPAM Ukraine, Adbakers, Salutis Print, Hammer, Marine Container Service, Imperial Brands, and many others, as well as companies and people who wish to remain anonymous.
I am glad that in 2024 they joined the recovery of the neuro-injured:
Nova Poshta, which helped in the treatment of its employee who joined the Armed Forces and was wounded.
Nika Plast, a company that produces polyethylene products and packaging.
New benefactors: Kornelia Boychenko, Boris Blukher, Marina Babich, Anna Metelskaya and all those who chose to remain anonymous.
Many thanks to TV presenter Tatyana Goncharova, who filmed stories and talked about the work of the clinic on the Rada channel and on her own YouTube channel https://surl.li/fkdbcz
Special thanks to ambassador Olesya Kyrylchuk, who gathered a powerful team around the foundation “300x30x3” – 30 wonderful people who donated €300 for 3 months. Also, on her initiative, the Japanese playback theatre 劇団プレイバッカーズ holds fundraising events in Japan.
But there were also painful losses: when we don’t have time to help everyone, it is very difficult to accept every time
Thank you to my colleagues in the Foundation Svetlana Seriakova and Irina Mikhailichenko for every call, every letter sent, every attempt to find a solution even where it seemed that there was none. It is thanks to you that the Foundation continues to fight for every wounded soldier.
That is why we are not stopping. We are now launching a new programme, 300 Hearts of Help, to help even more military personnel regain their lives.
And when many of our colleagues are now forced to stop working due to the loss of funding, we can continue to treat the wounded. Because we have you.
Thank you for being with us!
