A soldier of the “Berlingo” special battalion, call sign “Hannibal.” From the first glance at this sturdy man, you understand that no other call sign could have suited him better. A giant who, before the war, was a Ukrainian record holder in IRON MAN, a competition for strong and incredibly resilient men. It includes a triathlon over the longest distances: a total of 226 km, of which 3.8 km is swimming, 180.2 km is cycling, and 42.2 km is a marathon.

But war is merciless to everyone. Vladyslav does not like the saying: “How you meet the New Year is how you’ll spend it,” because on January 1st, 2023, while leaving his position, he was severely wounded and completely lost the ability to move.

Vladyslav sustained a severe spinal injury, so complicated that all the doctors declared his mobility to be lost forever. They said that perhaps in six months, he might be able to start sitting, at best.

However, Vladyslav’s powerful and loyal friends found the Nodus clinic. Only Dr. Oleksandr Kulyk promised the soldier that he would walk again.

By the beginning of March, two months after the injury, Vladyslav was standing on his own two feet. Early, intensive, specialized, technological neurorehabilitation by experienced doctors, combined with the unbreakable will of the soldier, produced results in a short time.
In January, his rehabilitation began with gradual verticalization, and by March, he was already able to perform very difficult exercises. He worked on regaining his ability to walk and to move his right arm again. Vladyslav’s treatment was made possible thanks to donations from people who did not stand by during this challenging time.

The women closest to his heart, his wife and daughter, were always by his side. His sole dream was to recover and return to service so that when the war ends, he would be able to return to competitive sports, to ultra-marathons on water and land.
“I will forever remain infinitely grateful to everyone who made it possible for me to receive treatment at this center, to those who supported me throughout this difficult time and continue to support me now, and to all the specialists and the staff of the Nodus Neurorehabilitation Center for my recovery. We all believed that with our hands, we would break through the rock, shatter the granite…” says Vladyslav. This is how titans are reborn.
